A HISTORY OF BRITISH MILITARY & CIVILIAN SMALLARMS MANUFACTURE BY THE

BIRMINGHAM SMALL ARMS COMPANY

Between 1984 and 1989, the now defunct GUNS REVIEW magazine carried a series of thirteen articles

authoured by John Walter. The series formed one of the most comprehensive histories written

about BSA & Co., including everything in the way of the company's production from air weapons (John Walter's specialism) to their rifles, pistols and machine guns; not to mention coverage of the company's inception and fortunes through the years.

We have collated the whole series of articles into a text-searchable flip-page facsimile, available below.

The articles began in May 1984 under the title "BSA - The Rise of the Piled Arms" in three parts. Susequently, from Part V, the remaining ten parts became "The BSA Story", each published in John Walter's regular column the "AIRGUN SCENE".
